In 1949, Charles E. Groff began working as a part-time mover for a small, local moving company, eventually buying the moving business from the retiring owner. The business was renamed Charles E. Groff Moving & Storage and provided local hauling and moving of various commodities. Groff formed a partnership with his three sons, Will, Terry and Kevin in 1984. Charles E. Groff retired in 1993, and two of his sons, Will and Kevin, carried on as partners until 2008 when the company was sold to Leslie Brosius, the company’s long-time estimator.
The staff is involved with several charitable activities – collecting food for their local food banks in affiliation with Move For Hunger, donating time to Habitat for Humanity and participating in local book sales for libraries.
“Charles E. Groff & Sons has a solid reputation for providing excellent customer service, and we are excited to begin this partnership,” said A.J .Schneider, Executive Vice President of Bekins. “We look forward to working with their team for many years to come.”
